40% of UK women "would change their breasts"
18th December 2006

According to a poll in Cosmetic Surgery Answers magazine, more than 40% of women would like to enhance their bust.

The poll, carried out on the magazine’s website (www.cosmeticsurgeryanswers) asked readers which part of their body they were least happy with. The overwhelming winner was “breasts”, which confirms the continuing interest in breast enhancement treatments at clinics and surgeries across the UK.

17% of readers also indicated that they wanted to flatten their tummies, while facial features (and in particular the nose) accounted for a further 12% of those polled.

Lynda Burgess from Cosmetic Surgery Answers magazine commented “ This year has seen a continuing growth in the number of people seeking information about cosmetic surgery, and in particular breast enhancement. We will continue to ramp up our coverage to ensure that we are delivering the best information to consumers on the do’s and don’t’s of breast augmentation.”

An audit by the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS) showed that its members carried out a total of 5,655 breast enlargement operations last year, almost 2,000 more than the previous year.
